Temperatures climbed well above normal last week in Holyoke and the surrounding area. Tuesday, June 26, official weather observer Dan Kafka recorded a high of 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Walking down the street, one knew it was a scorcher. Holyoke Community Federal Credit Union’s sign read 116 degrees while the other bank signs were flirting with 110.
Triple-digit temperatures have been occurring more and more in Colorado due to extremely dry conditions. Denver had a stretch of five days in triple digits with a record high 105 being recorded. —Enterprise photo
