The weather will probably be hot, but it shouldn’t keep people from participating in Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation’s eighth annual Amateur Triathlon 120 Club competition Saturday, July 14. Registration for the event will be held from 7-7:45 a.m. at Holyoke Swimming Pool with the event kicking off at 8 a.m. Everyone is invited to race, but there will be a fee for any contestants who did not participate in the eight-week challenge. All contestants will receive a long-sleeve T-shirt for registering. Participants will begin the race with a four-mile bike ride followed by a two-mile run/walk and finish up with six down-and-back laps of swimming. Competitors may race as a team or individually. Awards will be given to the top finishers in each age division. Results of the eight-week challenge will be announced with awards being presented to top finishers. For questions or early registration, contact Cherrie Brown at 520-5320, Tracy Trumper at 854-3616 or Brenda Krueger at 854-4158. Holyoke Enterprise July 12, 2012 |
