Showing off their “Blue Jeans and Country Dreams,” Better Beef Makers 4-H Club took grand champion honors at the July 28 Phillips County Fair parade. The parade, cruising down Holyoke’s Interocean Avenue, kicked off the Pioneer Seed Family Day at the fair. Virgil and Eloise Harms served as the parade grand marshals. There was plenty of denim to go around, as kids and adults of all ages sported blue jeans and cowboy boots for the parade theme.
Results of the parade judging are as follows: Youth maxi—Better Beef Makers 4-H, first and grand champ; Challengers 4-H, second; and Raising Ranchers 4-H, third. Civic group—Dragon’s Wagon Preschool, first. Business—Flower Garden, first; and PC Telcom, second. Holyoke Enterprise Aug. 2, 2012 |
