Justin Heermann, the son of Eldon and Christine Heermann and a 2008 graduate of Holyoke High School, graduated from the Stanford University School of Engineering June 17 with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science.

During his time at Standford, Heermann participated in several university organizations including the humor-oriented school marching band his freshman year, the Stanford Club Ski Team, the student-ran bank SSE Capital Group and the Sigma Nu Fraternity.

During the summer after his junior year, he completed a software engineering internship within the Consumer Telepresence Business Unit at Cisco Systems, Inc. During his senior year, Heermann performed in a variety of roles at two early stage software companies in the mobile payments and agricultural spaces, placing in the finals of a university business plan competition with the latter.

Heermann plans to return to California this fall to begin work on a Master of Science degree in computer science at the Stanford School of Engineering.
