Holyoke Dragon football players will see a different look this year as a revamped Class 1A football classification is put into place.
The CHSAA Board of Control gave its approval for the newly-aligned leagues in January.
The new enrollment parameters of 136-300 have resulted in 42 schools playing 1A football for the next two seasons. The enrollment ranges from a low of 49 at Cornerstone Christian, which has chosen to play up, to a high of 379 for Estes Park, which has qualified to play down a classification due to a low winning percentage over the past several years.
The revamped North Central Conference will have seven teams, Cornerstone Christian located in Westminster, Highland (228 enrollment) in Ault near Greeley, Resurrection Christian (193) in Loveland, Holyoke (164), Wiggins (141), Wray (203) and Yuma (237).
