HHS Select Choir performs at state competition PDF Print E-mail
Written by Holyoke Enterprise

Complete with choreography and costumes, the HHS Select Choir performed at the State Show Choir competition April 30-May 1 at Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs. The vocalists received a “good” rating, finishing just one point away from “excellent.” SoVoSo, a professional vocal jazz group, judged the competition as well as critiqued the vocalists in a special evaluation session. Director Marcia Dalton said she was very proud of the performance and noted Holyoke was probably the smallest school represented at State Show Choir as most groups are from 4A and 5A schools.
In addition to the group rating, Select Choir member Nora Roth also received an individual award for Outstanding Stage Presence. Musical selections for the competition included “Forever Doo-Wop” with soloists LeAnne McWilliams and Nora Roth, “Sincerely,” “Puttin’ on the RItz” and “Big Spender.” Choreography was designed by Megan Colglazier and Nora Roth.
