|Golfers shoot well at tough Eaton tourney|

Deyten Klein turned in the low score for the Holyoke boys’ golf team after a nice round of 83 Thursday, Aug. 16 in Eaton. Keaton Arkulari also came in under 90 with an 88. Gage Garnas and Kody Timm rounded out scoring with 91 and 100 respectively.
Holyoke’s team score of 262 put them towards the end of a stacked field of golfers. The Dragons finished in 15th place out of 22 teams. Holy Family and Thompson Valley tied for first with team scores of 231. Josh McLaughlin of Thompson Valley turned in the lowest score of the day with a 74.
The team traveled to Sterling Friday, Aug. 17 but scores were unavailable.
Six junior varsity golfers were scheduled to travel to Fort Morgan Tuesday, Aug. 28 for a two-man scramble.
Wednesday Holyoke was scheduled to host a junior varsity and varsity league match with Yuma, Burlington and Brush. Holyoke’s varsity team leads the gentlemen’s league after two of four tournaments.
Wednesday, Sept. 5, Holyoke will host a tournament at Ballyneal Golf Club beginning at noon. The following day, the team will travel to Estes Park for an 8 a.m. invitational.
