| Thompson, Roberts make it four-straight in Labor Day golf |

Jeremy Thompson and Josh Roberts made it four straight when they won the Sept. 1-2 Labor Day weekend golf scramble at Holyoke Golf Course for the fourth straight year. The pair shot a 129 to win the tournament. They won the 2011 Labor Day tourney with a 130, the 2010 tourney with a 127 and then a six-hole playoff and in 2009 with a 126. Rusty Triplette and Nick Flaa took second this past weekend with a 130 and Matt Klima and Aaron Kizer finished third in the championship flight with a 135. A total of 72 golfers competed in this year’s tournament, up six from a year ago. First-flight winners were Dave Engle and Randy Styskal, first; Geoff Gallagher and Casey St. John, second; and Jason Wagner and Brian Akey, third. Second-flight winners were Kris Dresen and Tony Josh, first; Bill Houtz and Gary Wright, second; and three-way tie for third with Scott Kirkwood and John Everitt, Brent Hofmeister and Ty Griffen and Rick Kent and Jared Kent. Third-flight winners were Todd Thompson and Jay O’Gorman, first; Paul Dahlgren and Larry Roth, second; and Paige Ferguson and Pat Kelly, third. Holyoke Enterprise September 6, 2012 |
