Holyoke Police Department is still looking for those involved in an incident that took place sometime Tuesday night, Sept. 4 between the 200 and 700 blocks of S. Baxter Ave.
Reports were received Wednesday, Sept. 5 about multiple slashed vehicle tires along the west side of Baxter Avenue in Holyoke.
Holyoke Police Chief Doug Bergstrom said there were eight different vehicles reported to the P.D., but through the rumor mill, there may have been more.
Bergstrom said the vandalism doesn’t seem to be targeted toward any of the vehicle owners. It appears to be random as vehicles in both the street and driveways were hit along the six-block stretch.
The chief said some vehicles had one tire punctured while others had two. All of the punctures were made with a sharp object through the sidewalls of the tires.
Bergstrom said the first reports came in the 300 block and went up to the 700 block. Another report later came from the 200 block. It is unclear in what direction the vandal or vandals were moving.
As of Thursday, Sept. 20, Holyoke P.D. did not have any leads. They are willing to listen to anyone with information related to the incident and those involved.
Those with information may contact Holyoke P.D. at 854-2244.
