Phillips County Economic Development reports
Phillips County Economic Development Corporation executive director Jeff Weaver attended last week’s meeting to run over the 2013 budget with council members.
He also gave a short update on what has been going on in 2012. He said PCEDC was involved with the new Seaboard feed mill as well as the Cobblestone hotel project. Previous director Erica Ayoub got the ball rolling on the hotel and Weaver is helping oversee the end of it. He noted they just recently received an application which will be reviewed and assessed.
Weaver said a Phillips County housing and needs assessment was conducted in 2004 and it needs to be updated. He noted it will cost a significant amount so they are looking for resources to get it updated for a cheaper cost.
