Veteran info needed soon

The Holyoke Enterprise is again featuring a special Veterans Day salute for both past veterans and current troops in the Nov. 8 edition of the newspaper.

Please submit the name, rank, branch, location and years of service for any local veteran or troop. Photos are optional. All submissions must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2.

No school Fri.

Students in Holyoke Re-1J will not have school Friday, Oct. 19.

HVFD called

Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department was called Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 1:40 p.m. to a grass fire on County Road 35 just south of the County Road 14 intersection. The whistle sounded again at 1:48 p.m., summoning more help to the fire. Fire chief Phillip Wirges said no buildings or structures were ever in danger.
