Written by Holyoke Enterprise

Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department sent four fire fighters to Holyoke Elementary school Thursday afternoon, Oct. 11 to help teach fire prevention safety to students. Damon Ellis, Bob Heldenbrand, Rod Trumper and Matt Winterrowd spoke to kids and gave them a tour of one of the fire trucks. The visit came in the middle of the Oct. 7-13 Fire Prevention Week.

At right, kindergartners Luke Roberts, Grace Hubbard and Mason Powell get a good look at the bright red fire truck. Below, Trumper uses the water cannon on the back of the truck to shoot a jet of water while students look on.
