|Readers urged to 'buy a brick'|

All Social Security recipients recently received notice that the economic recovery bill that President Obama signed into law in February, 2009 provides for a one-time payment of $250 to Social Security and Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries. We received this payment this month.
We all know $250 helps in many ways but will soon disappear. There is a great way to make this money last beyond most of our lifetimes. BUY A BRICK! Future Business Leaders of America, our local high school organization, is working to construct a memorial clock tower on the southwest corner of the Melissa Memorial Hospital campus.
For only $250 you may purchase a brick dedicated as a memorial to someone who was very special to you or it can carry the name of the donor to be remembered for helping make this memorial possible.
Four benches are to be placed around the tower. Two benches are still available for a donation of $1500 each. If you are not a Social Security recipient, you still may buy a brick.
The Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation is cooperating with the FBLA to make this project a success. For more information or to make a donation, you may contact MMH Foundation Director Cherrie Brown at 970-854-2994.
