Chocolate Chips

What I am about to say will change your life. Chocolate-covered potato chips.

That was probably a little more dramatic in my head than when you just read it, but trust me, this stuff is amazing. It’s the perfect combination of sweet and salty, crunchy and soft, heavenly and delicious.

One of my friends got me hooked on this combination last Christmas, and I’ve been craving them ever since!

She made the mistake of giving me Funkychunky’s Chip-Zel-Pop, which combines the chocolate-covered potato chips, chocolate and caramel-drizzled pretzels and caramel popcorn. Yeah, I know, it’s a little ridiculous, but it’s to die for!

I’ve been wondering why this whole chocolate-covered potato chip phenomenon hasn’t really caught on yet. Why aren’t we lining grocery store shelves with packages upon packages of this delightful little treat? Maybe they could take the shelf space left behind by Hostess Twinkies—may they rest in peace—and replace them with potato chips.

Don’t worry, though, because I’ve got a solution. Let’s just make our own chocolate chip creations! You’ll be the hit of any family Christmas gathering or New Year’s Eve party.

Chocolate-covered Potato Chips

1 family-size bag potato chips with ruffles
1 to 1 1/2 packages milk chocolate almond bark
1/2 package white chocolate almond bark

Melt milk chocolate almond bark on stovetop or in microwave according to directions on package. Dip potato chips halfway into chocolate, letting cool on wax paper. Melt white chocolate almond bark and drizzle on top of the cooled milk chocolate-covered potato chips.
When chips become too small to dip, spread out on wax paper and drizzle with remaining milk and white chocolate. Enjoy!
