Bands perform Christmas and more PDF Print E-mail

Holyoke’s Junior High Concert Band, High School Concert Band and JR/SR High combined Jazz Band entertained with Christmas music and more in a Dec. 17 concert in the HHS auditorium.

The bands were under the direction of Miko Martinez, with Marcia Dalton accompanying some of the Jazz Band numbers.

Jazz Band opened Monday’s program with “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” Other tunes included “Secret Agent Man,” “25 or 6 to 4,” “Come Sail Away” and “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.”

The junior high portion of the program featured “Ursa Minor,” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” “Good King Wenceslas” and “Fanfare for a Holiday Celebration.”

HHS Concert Band members closed the program with “Do You Hear What I Hear?,” “Fantasia for Christmas,” “Theme from the New World Symphony,” “O Holy Night” (dedicated to Pat Wiebers) and “The Brighter Side of Christmas.”
