Freshmen Lori McWilliams and Dani Brandt (pictured above) auditioned and earned spots at this year’s high school honor choir. They joined almost 50 other vocalists in Haxtun Monday, Jan. 14 for rehearsals and an evening concert.
Because of scheduling conflicts, teachers Don Johnson from Sterling and Randy Hayes from Chase County, Neb. filled in as clinicians. The honor choir performed “Psalm 103,” “Riversong,” “Hold Steady with the Gate,” “O Sifuni” and “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay.”
Performers came from area schools including Julesburg, Sterling, Brush, Chase County, Neb., Garden County, Neb., Wray, Akron, Revere, Haxtun, Wiggins and Holyoke.
