BeCause still helping out
BeCause, a local nonprofit group, has provided funds for over 20 years to those in need. Funds have been used for trips to the doctor, electric bills, rent and more.
When first organized, an annual fundraiser was held. Board members want community members to know they’re still there, still helping out. BeCause is a good place for memorial money or for donations.
Board members can be contacted for those wanting to donate or for notification of people in need. Members are Orville Tonsing, Mary Fulscher and Don Hewitt.
Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department responded to a truck accident approximately a mile and a half north of Holyoke Sunday, Feb. 17 at approximately 1:20 p.m. The truck struck a power pole, so Highline Electric Association was called for assistance. No extrication was needed.
