Ag-ed gets new arc welders PDF Print E-mail
Written by Holyoke Enterprise

New arc welders are now in place in the metal shop in Holyoke JR/SR High’s agricultural education program, thanks to the support of a $5,000 DuPont Pioneer grant.

Local ag instructor Guy Kuntz said these new arc welders will provide students with the opportunity to work with equipment that is currently used in the industry. They will be able to learn new techniques and methods of welding that can be used on many different steel types.

DuPont Pioneer supports local ag education programs that are helping to prepare students for future careers in a variety of ag-related fields. DuPont Pioneer personnel involved in the recent grant donation are account manager Shawn Sullivan and local sales representative Erik Vieselmeyer.

Pioneer makes contributions to community-based organizations on behalf of the business and employees. Consideration for community outreach grants are given to communities where Pioneer representatives, employees and customers live and work and that support quality-of-life initiatives to create an improved, sustainable lifestyle for people worldwide.
