Holyoke city workers had their work cut out for them as Holyoke received more than six inches of snow in the past week. The storm peaked Wednesday, Feb. 20 with 3.6 inches of snowfall, but the storm was not over. An additional 1.1 inches fell Thursday, Feb. 21 and 2.1 inches fell Sunday, Feb. 24.
City workers, pictured above, remove truckloads of snow from Interocean Avenue Wednesday. Loads were dumped along Bignel Street, as pictured below.
With two and a half days off from school last week, kids were able to stay inside and avoid the weather or venture outside to build snowmen like the one pictured at left on Kellogg Street. —Enterprise photos
