|Girls prepare to begin golf season|

Three letterwinners return to the girls’ golf team this year with hopes of making it to the state tournament.
Seniors Caitlyn Kramer and Alyssa Cordova and junior Makayla Spitz earned letters by representing Holyoke at the regional tournament last year.
“They have set goals to compete hard, to do well at regionals and to make it to state this year,” head coach Garrett Gordon said of the three.
Gordon is assisted by Nick Flaa.
They were the only team to play three golfers instead of four, something Gordon hopes changes this year. With another year of experience, Gordon believes someone will be able to step up, play more varsity tournaments and fill the fourth slot.

“Our goals are to continue to improve from last year,” Gordon said.
Gordon noted that the underclassmen on the team have been able to learn from the veteran girls who have shown great dedication and hard work while on the course.
Also on the team this year are junior Kelsey Kramer and sophomores Alex McCallum and Kaylee Ham.
Fleming juniors Taylor Bernard and Dominique Slack will also be joining the Lady Dragons this season.
Freshman Kaely Zilla has stepped in as the team manager.
The Dragons will head to Burlington Friday, March 22 at 10 a.m. for the first competition of the year.
