|Pies fly for P.I.E.|

If nothing else, the whipped cream tasted good, said three brave administrators as they sacrificed a pie in the face for the annual Partners In Education (P.I.E.) Carnival for Classrooms last Friday, April 5 at Holyoke Elementary School.
Superintendent Bret Miles (pictured above), Elementary Principal Kyle Stumpf and JR/SR High Principal Susan Ortner all braved the pies, which helped raise $3,000 for classrooms in Holyoke schools.
Blanca Martinez, pictured at left, was one of the lucky students to fling a pie at the carnival.
Other popular attractions were carnival games, face painting, a photo booth and tasty treats. Parents also bid on silent auction baskets created by the classrooms.
Teachers will now have the opportunity to apply for a mini-grant of sorts from P.I.E. for funds to use in their classrooms.
