|Poetry contest under way|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
Anyone who has ever written a poem is eligible to enter the Free Poetry Contest sponsored by Poetryfest, a nonprofit organization devoted to discovering new poets and helping them to achieve a wider audience for their poetry.
There are 100 prizes to go around, and the last poet standing will receive a $1,000 cash reward.
The rules are simple. Send one poem, only 21 lines or less, to Free Poetry Contest, P.O. Box 3561, Ashland, OR 97520, or enter online at www.freecontest.com. Deadline for entering is June 10.
Those sending entries should include their name and address on the same page as the poem. A winner’s list will be sent to all entrants, along with a free copy of the contest director’s popular essay, “How to Win a Poetry Contest.”
