Seven applications for grant funds were rewarded by Partners in Education at the Friday, May 17 staff meeting in the JR/SR High auditorium. Awards were presented by Jessica Johnson, 2012-13 PIE president, and Jade Goldenstein, 2013-14 PIE president.
PIE holds an annual school carnival and donates the money earned back to the Holyoke School District teachers in the form of several grants. This year, the group awarded one $1,000 grant, two $500 grants and four $250 grants.
Teachers were asked to submit applications detailing how the money would be used. Applications were then evaluated by PIE and awarded according to merit.
