Fire dept. to host open house
Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department is hosting an open house Saturday, June 1 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at their truck shed at the intersection of Denver Street and Campbell Avenue. They invite the community to see the trucks and equipment and share a meal with the firefighters. A demonstration on car extrication is set for 12:30 p.m.
Animal clinic set for Sat.
City of Holyoke and Phillips County are partnering for the annual animal clinic this Saturday, June 1 from 9-11 a.m. at Holyoke Vet Service.
City ordinance requires any and all dogs harbored within the City of Holyoke be licensed. All dogs must be vaccinated every other year with antirabies vaccine, and proof from a licensed veterinarian is necessary before the City dog license is issued.
It’s strongly encouraged that all dogs and cats within the county be vaccinated. Additional vaccines are also available Saturday. Contact Holyoke Vet Service, 854-3800, for animal records.
GOCO grant for track is recommended
It won’t be official until the Great Outdoors Colorado board makes its final determination on Tuesday, June 11. But for now, Phillips County’s application for the all-weather track project at Holyoke High School is a recommºended project for funding approval.
HVFD responds to crash
Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department responded to a single-car rollover accident at County Roads 43 and 4 Thursday, May 23 at 11:45 p.m. No extrication was needed. HVFD assisted EMS at the scene.
