Mike Frazier of Amherst delivered the Memorial Day address at Hillside Cemetery in Julesburg Monday, May 27. Frazier serves as camp manager at Camp Machasay, which is a ministry of Youth Challenge.
“We live in a country that was founded on the American dream, the concept that you can do anything with hard work and a good idea,” said Frazier. He cited that many have done just that in the last few hundred years, with many reporting success and many more failures.
Reflecting on a quote by Thomas Jefferson, Frazier said, “I think God gave us liberty and freedom, and one day his wrath will come and judge us according to our deeds in our freedoms.”
Frazier’s question to those gathered was, “What good is freedom of the body when you are not at peace and free on the inside?”
