|Hoffner earns bachelor’s degree|

Benjamin Wade Hoffner, son of Rick Hoffner of Severance and Ramona Schilke of Imperial, Neb., earned a bachelor’s degree in construction management from the College of Applied Human Sciences, with minor concentrations in Spanish and business from Colorado State University in Fort Collins on May 17 during their May 2013 commencement exercises.
Hoffner was a member of Sigma Lambda Chi—National Construction Honors Society, held the office as treasurer of United States Green Building Council students at CSU and was a competitor on the Virtual Design in Construction competition team, which placed third nationally in Sparks, Nev., during the 2013 Associated Schools of Construction Competition.
Hoffner, who is a native of Holyoke and a 2008 HHS graduate, has accepted a full-time position with Kiewit Building Group and will begin his career in Denver in mid-June, building the I-225 light rail project.
