Stock car racing at its finest, brought to Holyoke by BST Promotions, garnered a record number of cars and record crowd at Phillips County Raceway on the Fourth of July.
The races were sparked by the presence of NASCAR star Kenny Schrader, who signed autographs at various times throughout the day and evening.
The Fourth of July celebration in Holyoke ended with a spectacular set of fireworks, shot off by Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department south of City Park.
Holyoke’s Garrett Sporhase joins in the parade of flags just prior to the last race of the evening at Phillips County Raceway on the Fourth of July. Each driver in the 24-car parade held an American flag. The cars paraded in front of the grandstands, four abreast in six rows for a fine salute to America’s birthday.
