Special overall general 4-H awards added at this year's fair PDF Print E-mail

Overall and reserve overall awards in three age divisions for general 4-H projects were awarded for the first time at this year’s fair.

Winners were Molly Brandt, overall senior, with a $250 college scholarship; Elise Atkins, reserve overall senior; Alex Vieselmeyer, overall intermediate; Anna Jelden, reserve overall intermediate; Landon Bogan, overall junior; and Tristen Ferguson, reserve overall junior.

Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion efforts in food, booths, clothing and other general home ec/general 4-H projects were recognized at last week’s county fair.


Elise Atkins won GC foods with her unit 13 senior bread project. RGC went to Kristin Vieselmeyer with her unit 1 juniors food project.

Clothing construction

Anna Jelden won GC honors in clothing with her unit 27 intermediate linen, ramie and hemp project. RGC honors went to Marissa Schelling with her unit 28 intermediate specialty fabrics project.

Shooting sports

Alex Vieselmeyer took GC shooting sports with his intermediate archery project. RGC in this division went to Brandon Durbin with his junior shotgun project.


Grand Champions

GC honors for other 4-H projects were earned by Alexandria McCallum, leathercraft; Megan Vieselmeyer, scrapbooking; Christopher Durbin, sport fishing; Tristen Ferguson, veterinary science; Kristin Vieselmeyer, cat; Isaac Strauss, gardening.

Regan Van Overbeke, pet rabbit; Tanley Andersen, weeds and global citizenship study of another country; Cole LeBlanc, bicycle; Ethan Schneller, model rocketry; Emily Jelden, ceramics; Molly Brandt, leadership; Alyssa Lock, cake decorating; and Elise Atkins, heritage arts.


Reserve Grand Champions

RGC awards for other 4-H projects went to Josilyn Lutze, veterinary science; Kenton Bogan, leathercraft; Tristen Ferguson, pet rabbit; Erin Vieselmeyer, scrapbooking; Keegan Shaw, ceramics; Abbegayle Britton, cake decorating; and Ashley Rahe, heritage arts.


Raising Ranchers 4-H Club decorated the GC booth, while Challengers 4-H had the RGC.
