A small crowd of around 20 gathered in the HHS commons area Thursday, Aug. 8 to discuss education issues in the state of Colorado.
Sponsored by the Phillips County Republican Central Committee, the program was introduced by Bret Kramer. Speakers for the evening were Pam Mazanec, member of the Colorado Board of Education; and Laura Boggs, Jefferson County School District board member.
Audience members were primarily from the Wray School District and several of them are involved in homeschooling.
Initiative 22, a ballot initiative that would raise Colorado state income taxes $950 million a year, was the first topic of discussion.
