Holyoke golfers had quite the successful week, earning second-place finishes at both the Friday, Aug. 23 Burlington Invite and the Monday, Aug. 26 Yuma Invitational.
Gage Garnas steered HHS into a top-three finish for the first time this season by carding a 79 at Burlington, tying him for the tournament lead with Conner Blach of Yuma. Through Colorado high school golf tiebreak rules, Garnas was declared the winner.
Tristan Sullivan and Daniel Swisher each shot a 107 in the round to give Holyoke a team score of 293. Gabriel Marner also competed with the varsity squad, finishing the day with a score of 114.
“I think that we’re going in the right direction,” coach Garrett Gordon said. “The young guys are playing better and Gage (Garnas) is playing really well and kind of holding the team together.”
