|A day, a week, a month—Colorado focuses on suicide prevention all year|

September is recognized as National Suicide Prevention Month throughout the nation, as well as locally in Colorado.
Colorado recently released statistics showing that the state’s suicide rate is at an all-time high as 1,053 lost their lives to suicide in 2012. More than twice as many people take their own life than die in motor vehicle crashes.
Because of this significant public health problem, local groups all over the state, including Rural Solutions’ LifeSource Project, will be hosting awareness-raising events, training workshops and other activities to engage the public in helping to stem the tide.
