If community members are curious about food safety in northeast Colorado, this is their chance to become more informed. Northeast Colorado Health Department is hosting an open discussion about food safety in Sterling on Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 3-5 p.m., and members of the food service industry, as well as consumers, are welcome to attend.
The meeting will be held at NCHD’s district headquarters, located at 700 Columbine St. in Sterling. The meeting is free, and reservations are requested but not required.
“Our first food safety meeting this past January went very well, and the feedback was really helpful,” said Carmen Vandenbark, NCHD’s environmental health administrator. “During that meeting, we talked a lot about the new risk-based inspection frequency methodology we’ve adopted at NCHD, and that opened up a lot more discussion topics and an idea to host this type of informative meeting twice a year.”
