|Jelden continues to excel in 4-H clothing at 2013 state fair|

Holyoke eighth-grader Anna Jelden defended her overall intermediate grand champion honors in clothing construction at the 2012 Colorado State Fair by being named grand champion again during this year’s competition Aug. 23-Sept. 2 in Pueblo.
“It feels great to be grand champion two years in a row,” said Jelden. “I was really shocked when I found out the news.”
This Challengers 4-H Club member has been in 4-H for five years and has participated in clothing construction all five years.
For her Unit 27 project this year, Jelden wanted to replicate a skirt she saw online with an accompanying blouse for a cute outfit she can wear. She chose linen because it’s lightweight. For the skirt, she wanted the brightly-colored floral fabric to match the black waistband, and she said the black shirt will be very versatile.
