|HHS takes top spot at home tourney|

With the boys’ golf season rapidly winding down, the Dragon team is playing their best golf of the year, earning a first-place finish at the first annual Kurtis Huss Memorial Golf Tournament in Holyoke Thursday, Sept. 5.
“I feel good about the way the team has progressed and improved at every tournament,” coach Garrett Gordon said.

Gage Garnas continued his hot streak, beating out the 23-person field to pick up his third tournament victory by carding a 77, five strokes better than second-place finisher Conner Blach of Yuma. Garnas has now placed in the top three of all four league tournaments, shooting below 80 in all four rounds.
Tristan Sullivan and Xander Nelson each shot a 95 on the day as Holyoke turned in a team score of 267, seven strokes ahead of Brush who placed second. A scorecard playoff placed Nelson in fifth and Sullivan in sixth. Daniel Swisher also competed with the varsity team, carding a 111 in the tournament.
