Hospice of the Plains held its 14th annual golf tournament Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Wray Golf Course.
Forty-two golfers endured play in triple-digit weather but were then treated to a delicious dinner of barbecue baby back ribs with homemade baked beans, salads and desserts prepared by Hospice volunteers and staff.
Afterward, pin prizes were awarded and drawings were held for all the prizes generously donated by local businesses.
Other events included four golfers attempting a hole-in-one and one golfer attempting a 50-foot putt. Unfortunately there were no winners for the $50,000 or $100,000 shootout attempts or the $2,500 putt.
Three winners did come away with a cash award for the ball drop from the bucket truck—Julie Rus, Lynn Adamson and Jordan Davison.
Winners of the tournament follow: In the men’s championship flight, the team of Dan Neumann and Charlie Johnson took home top honors. Tying for second was the team of Javan Jones and Allen Jones and the team of Erick Cole and Kenny Owens.
