Dominating their homecoming softball games with Yuma Saturday, Sept. 21, the Lady Dragons won a 23-3 game in three innings, then put the Indians away 18-3 in four innings in the second game of the doubleheader.

“It was great for the girls to get two wins at home and even better that it was their Homecoming game,” said coach Ashley Clayton.

“We have been working with the girls to compete, no matter who is on the other side of the field. It was nice to see them continue to compete at their level throughout both games,” added Clayton.

She emphasized that the girls made the adjustments they needed to in the batter’s box in order to ensure great hits. “That is a huge stride for them,” said Clayton.

As they have put many people in new defensive positions, they will continue to get better and better with practice and game experience, said Clayton.

“The girls are doing the things they need to do in order to be successful, and it was nice to see that pay off for them with two wins,” praised the coach.
