|Lady Dragons close out season with big wins over Haxtun, Wiggins|

Lady Dragon volleyball improved to 5-3 in league play by topping Haxtun Thursday, Oct. 17 and beating Wiggins Friday, Oct. 18 for the final matches of the regular season.
HHS had a slow start Thursday during Parents’ Night as Haxtun jumped out to a 6-2 lead. After a Holyoke timeout, the Lady Dragons came out hot, rattling of an 8-2 rally to jump ahead 10-8.
Holyoke fought off the surging Lady Bulldogs for a while but Haxtun regained the lead at 17-16. Haxtun hung on to the lead as they closed out the first set with a 25-22 victory.

Facing a one-set deficit, Holyoke steadily poured on the offense as Maddie King, Audi Peña and Jacinda Krueger led the attack. HHS evened the series at one apiece with a 25-14 victory in the second set.
After exchanging leads through the first half of the third game, Holyoke took control. HHS hung on during a late-game rally by Haxtun to win 25-21.
Haxtun put together an early lead in the final game but Holyoke scraped together a 13-5 run to pull away. The Lady Dragons continued to attack the net as they finished strong for the 25-18 win.
