|Abrams Brothers kick off 2013-14 concert series|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
The Abrams Brothers are set to kick off the first of four shows put on by the Phillips County Arts Council as a part of their annual concert season. Performing their musical mixture of bluegrass, country and folkrock, the group will take the stage Sunday, Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Holyoke High School auditorium.
Live performances for the group date back to when they were as young as 11 and 9 years old. The Abrams Brothers grew up playing music in an atmosphere where generational family musical collaborations are tradition.
Comprised of Joñ (vocals and guitar), James (vocals and fiddle) and cousin Elijah (bass), this young Ontario, Canada-based Americana/bluegrass band pairs a rich musical background with a youthful exuberance.
The Abrams Brothers are fourth-generation musicians with musical roots reaching back to their great-grandparents. Despite their age (early 20s), they have been touring together for more than a decade, and in the past few years have become Canadian Festival favorites.
