First-round action for the Colorado Class 1A football playoff bracket consisted of several lopsided victories as all winning teams topped their opponent by at least two scores to open the postseason hunt for the golden ball Saturday, Nov. 2.

North Central league teams Yuma and Resurrection Christian both posted victories to move on to the quarterfinal round of the bracket. Yuma, who entered the game as the seventh seed, blanked No. 10 Rye 42-0 for the win. No. 9 Resurrection Christian upset eighth-seeded Platte Canyon with a 36-20 victory.

No. 14 Wray, who spoiled Holyoke’s chances of making the playoffs in the final week of the regular season, made an early exit from the playoffs with a 0-28 loss to third-seeded Centauri.
