HHS volleyball bowed out of the regional tournament with a pair of three-set losses to Yuma and Lyons in Yuma Friday, Nov. 1.
Holyoke started the tournament with a familiar foe in Yuma as the match would mark the third time the teams would face each other in less than a month’s time. The Lady Dragons knew they had their work cut out for them as the previous two outings resulted in a Yuma victory in three sets.

It didn’t take long for Yuma to jump out to an 8-3 lead in the first set. A Holyoke timeout did little to thwart the powerful kills by the Yuma squad as they posted an 8-1 run to take an early 16-4 lead.
Holyoke went on spurts to close out the set, but the early deficit proved too large to overcome as they fell 15-25.
“We just didn’t bring it,” coach Michelle Vieselmeyer said. She added that Yuma was too good of a team to beat by sending free balls over the net.
