|Lucy Kropp brings her Antique Styles to Holyoke|
|Written by Kyle Arnoldy|
With a dedicated passion for antiques dating back to her childhood, about three months ago Lucy Kropp took her love for antiquing and opened Antique Styles in Holyoke.
After about 20 years of renting spaces at antique malls in a handful of towns in Colorado and Nebraska, Kropp decided it was time to make work something she was excited for. After recently exiting the medical field where she spent the previous 10 years, it became clear to Kropp that the politics of the corporate world weren’t for her.
“I have always been passionate about antiques, even as a little girl,” Kropp said. “I guess I have an old soul. I just have respect for older things. I have always wanted to have my own store, and with me not doing medical coding anymore, it presented new possibilities.”
She added that she loves the history behind pieces and enjoys auctions as well.
Located in the back of Inklings Book Store at 221 N. Interocean Ave, the store houses an eclectic collection of vintage artifacts as Kropp says she has a little bit of everything. Kropp pointed to the furniture as being her favorite, however.
“I just want people to come in and feel comfortable, enjoy looking around and see what I am all about,” Kropp said.
