The Christmas spirit was certainly alive in the HHS auditorium Thursday evening, Dec. 5 when Holyoke elementary students in kindergarten, second grade and fourth grade hit the stage for their annual Christmas program.
Elementary music teacher Marcia Dalton kicked off the program with fun holiday numbers with the kindergarten group.
Corben Rosales, Andrea Marquez and Hannah Lindholm sport some flashy blow up instruments for the second-grade’s version of “The Reindeer Rock.”
Songs included “We are the Stars,” “I’m So Glad It’s Christmas,” “Holiday Hop,” “Gingerbread Cookies” and “Shout!!” A special song they performed was called “A Million Little Snowflakes,” which was written in honor and memory of the precious students of Sandy Hook Elementary.
The brave kindergarten students also got up to the microphones for two poems called “A Chubby Little Snowman” and “The Christmas ABC’s.”
Next up was the second-grade group and their song “A Super Celebration” followed by “Este Es La Navidad” with instrumentalists Bryson Dirks, Katie Marshall, Damari Fernandez Perez, Jorge Barajas and Azury Chaparro Rangel.
