|Buckley Bombers beat Sidney; 1-1 at Ft. Morgan|

Buckley Bombers Senior Team, based out of Chappell, Neb., went 2-1 in action last week against Sidney, Neb. and Fort Morgan. This brings the Sr. Bomber team’s record to 11-9 so far.
Hosting Sidney, Neb. on Wednesday, July 1, the Bombers took a strong lead and beat their opponent, 7-1. Brandon Price pitched the full seven innings, throwing five hits, six strikeouts, four bases on balls and one unearned run.
Batting leaders were Kendall Kroeger with a home run and two RBIs; Matt Ramirez, who was 2-3 with one RBI; and Zach Hansen with two RBIs.
Traveling to Fort Morgan on Thursday, July 2, the Bombers took on Fort Morgan’s A Legion team twice. They dropped the first game, 3-8, but came back in the second for a big win of 7-1.
Ryan Dee took the loss on the mound in the first game, throwing over five innings. He had 10 hits, four strikeouts and seven earned runs. At bat, Jonathan Houser was 2-3 and Tyler Dale 1-3 with two RBIs.
Austin Tharp earned the win in Game Two, pitching seven innings for nine strikeouts, five hits and one earned run.
“The Bombers are starting to get in stride as we pull into July, and we hope this winning can continue,” said coach Marcus Kammer. The Chappell team was also scheduled to play in Alliance, Neb. Monday night, July 6.
Up next, the Bombers will face Hershland Wednesday, July 8 to finish the game called off on June 25. The originally scheduled game will be played as well. Weekend action will see them hosting Ogallala Friday, July 10 for two games starting at 5 p.m., then traveling to Sterling Saturday, July 11 for two games at 4 p.m. Returning home on Sunday, July 12, the team will play two more games against Gering, Neb. at 5 p.m.
