|Plant a seed and read with the Friends of the Library|
|Written by Darci Tomky|
Heginbotham Library patrons are helping the library grow by joining and supporting the local Friends of the Library group, which held its annual salad luncheon Monday, Feb. 3.
The flower-themed event was held at Phillips County Museum and featured guest speaker Julie Dirks, owner of the Flower Garden in Holyoke.
She gave the group some tips and tricks on growing flowers from seeds—something that takes a lot of patience! Dirks advised them to start thinking about a theme for their garden, such as a butterfly garden or a moonlight garden, and then to start planning for when to plant the seeds, what to plant them in and how to nurture them so they grow.
Outgoing Friends of the Library president Linda Jelden praised the group for their continued support of the library and how it has grown.
