HHS Lady Dragon basketball players have completed their summer season.

Up to 26 girls competed in a total of 68 games this summer. Girls participated in the NJC Team Camp, NJC Monday Night Summer League in Sterling, as well as the University of Northern Colorado Team Camp in Greeley.

Coach Arlan Scholl noted the varsity team did well, winning 18 games and losing only nine. Junior varsity teams won several games and gained some valuable playing experience.

There was great competition at all levels, as the local girls played many larger schools such as Greeley Central, Northridge of Greeley, Eaton, Natrona County of Casper, Wyo., Platte Canyon, Prairie View, Aspen, Windsor, Holy Family, Boulder Fairview, Pueblo County, Sidney, Neb., Sterling and several others.

Coach Scholl noted appreciation to parents for allowing this summer basketball participation. “This kind of experience will really benefit our girls’ basketball efforts for the future,” he added.

Scholl also acknowledged coach Clint Goldenstein for his help in the summer program. He added the girls and coaches are looking forward to a great season this next school year.
