|FCCLA project a chance to interact with local nursing home residents|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
Holyoke FCCLA members Dani Brandt and Anastasia Conklin have been directing an Interpersonal Communications project to connect teenagers and seniors through communication and interaction.
The two girls set up their project by having a garage sale at the high school over Christmas break to raise funds for providing games to play and books to read to nursing home and assisted living residents.
Brandt and Conklin have been recruiting teenagers to visit the Regent Park and Carriage House. Teenagers who have visited the nursing home and assisted living residents have had a chance to interact with elders in the community.
