|Dragon basketball squads move on to regionals|

Holyoke High School girls’ and boys’ basketball teams will hit the road Friday, March 7 for 2A regional tournament action.
The District 2 tournament wrapped up Saturday, March 1 with the boys placing second the girls fourth.
Regional tournaments will be held at eight different locations around the state Friday-Saturday, March 7-8. From here on out, a loss will eliminate a team from the tournament. Four teams will compete in each bracket with only one team from each bracket advancing to the state tournament in Pueblo Thursday-Saturday, March 13-15.

Boys to face Limon
HHS boys will have a long road trip ahead of them as they travel to Region 6 in La Junta to square off with Limon at Otero Junior College.
Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. with Holyoke as the No. 2 team and Limon seeded third. Both teams enter the match with a 14-8 record.
Top-seeded Rye (18-4) will face Evangelical Christian (10-12) Friday at 4:30 p.m. and the winners from the two games will meet Saturday, March 8 at 2:30 p.m. to determine who is state-bound.
Lady Dragons play at Mullen High School
Holyoke girls will compete in Region 4 at Mullen High School in Denver.
As the fourth-seeded team, Holyoke (11-11) will face top-ranked Lutheran (20-1) Friday at 3:30 p.m. No. 2 Heritage Christian (19-3) will play third-seeded Calhan (10-12) Friday at 6:30 p.m.
The two winners from Friday will meet Saturday at 1 p.m. to compete for a spot at the state tournament.
