| JV and C girls fall to Wray |

Holyoke’s JV and C girls’ basketball teams suffered losses to Wray Tuesday, Dec. 2. The JV game ended in a 15-point loss (21-36), while the C team lost by 32 (23-55). The girls hope to regain momentum as they continue into the season and learn more about each other and coming together as a team. Holyoke JV 21, Wray 36 Both teams were tied at the end of the first quarter of the JV game, but by halftime Holyoke trailed by seven. Throughout the remainder of the game Holyoke just could not keep up with Wray’s offensive plays, and lost, 21-36. Leading scorer for Holyoke was Mallory Bennett with 11, followed by Shelby Beavers four and Patricia Adams, Heather Duester and Kaylee Groshans with two apiece. Holyoke C 23, Wray 55 Wray’s C team dominated throughout their 55-23 win. Leading offensive player for Holyoke was Laura Gerk with 12 points, including three three-pointers. Adding four was Patricia Adams (four for four in free throws), followed by KrisAnna Ham with three, Emily Bradley (two for two in free throws) and Ella Stewart two. |
