Lexi Moul to perform at Thursday night Fair concert PDF Print E-mail

Making her way into the country music industry, Lexi Moul will also make her way to this year’s Phillips County Fair. The 18-year-old Ogallala, Neb. native will be featured at the fair Thursday, July 23 at an 8 p.m. concert.

Moul’s dreams of becoming a country singer are coming true. Since 2005 she has been traveling to Nashville, Tenn. to study under country music renowned voice coach Renee Grant-Williams who has worked with Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride and many other country music stars.

Performing is certainly nothing new to Moul who has been singing since she was a child. She began dazzling audiences at age 4 and sang the National Anthem and other music selections for numerous sporting events and local fairs. As a 6-year-old, Moul performed the National Anthem with Miss High School Rodeo Nebraska Jacque Lewis-McBride at the 1996 Keith County Fair rodeo.

Moul started competing in the Colgate Country Showdown at age 11 and has been a finalist every year. Moul was also a top finalist in the Galaxy of Stars Search at the State Fair Competition in Lincoln, Neb. in 2006.

For the past three years, Moul has been the opening act at the Ogallala Indian Summer Rendezvous and has been an annual performer there since age 4. Moul also opened concerts for Emerson Drive at the Keith County Fair in 2008 and for Ricochet in North Platte, Neb. in 2009.

Other performances include appearances at talent shows, fairs, beauty pageants and business conventions in Nebraska; Rapid City, S.D.; Denver; Dallas, Texas; and Nashville, Tenn.

In addition to concerts, Moul has performed the roles of Eulalie Shinn in The Music Man Jr., Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Lola in Damn Yankees and Senior Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion.

“I Just Do” is Moul’s first country music album which she recorded in Nashville and released in July 2007. Besides singing, Moul is also learning to play guitar and has started to write some songs.
