Members and the general public are invited to attend the Fort Sedgwick Historical Society’s annual program Sunday, April 27 at the Fort Sedgwick Museum in Julesburg. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
Historians Vance and Karen Nelson’s program “Frontier Forts as Communities: A Misunderstood Perspective” will describe the social life that existed at most frontier military posts because of the presence of women and children.
The presentation begins at 2 p.m. and will include details about Fort Sedgwick and a mini-exhibit of vintage clothing and other related historic items.
